February 28th|South Korea’s Hee Young Park capped off another solid performance with an even par 72 in the final round to finish in a tie for 9th place at the HSBC Women’s Champions tournament in Singapore.

Building on her T11 place finish last week at the LPGA Honda PTT Thailand, Hee Young showed some encouraging signs that this could be a big year for her on the LPGA Tour with a solid 68 in the first round to be tied for the lead. She struggled to a 74 on Friday, only to bounce back with a 3 under par 69 on Saturday. Sunday was a frustrating day for the young South Korean but she battled gamely, sinking a big birdie putt on the 18th to finish at level par for the day and ensure a top 10 finish.

Hee Young has been training at the Bann Lynch Golf school in Melbourne, Australia over the Northern Hemisphere winter (Aussie summer) with Pure Golf Training co-founder Steve Bann and has accredited a lot of her success early in the season to the work she has put in with Bann. When asked about what the difference is between her performance last year and this year, she said:

You know, I had winter training in Melbourne and then Korea for like a month exercising…a lot of exercise, eating well and more, I learned the course management from my coach (Steve Bann). So that’s why it’s more easier to play 18 holes. So that’s the difference last year to this year.”
